Legal Aid Wealth: Surviving and Thriving on the Salary of a Public Interest Attorney

 

Author Janine A. Scott received her law degree from Syracuse University College of Law. She is employed as a public interest attorney at the Maryland Legal Aid Bureau, Inc. and has been a trial attorney there for more than a decade, working in the area of family law. She is admitted to the New York, Maryland, and District of Columbia bars. Recognizing a need for financial literacy and education, Janine Scott also gives financial workshops and presentations. She has authored the book---Legal Aid Wealth: Surviving and Thriving on the Salary of a Public Interest Attorney. She is using a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the book to create student loan repayment scholarships for public interest attorneys. Janine Scott is the monthly personal finance columnist for the Maryland Legal Aid Bureau's newsletter: What's Going On.
