The North Atlantic Cities
(Featuring Baltimore City)

Thursday, October 22, 2020
12:30 p.m. - 1:45 p.m.

To understand Baltimore, it’s useful to know something about the other cities that are like Baltimore. Fortunately, there are a lot of them, and most of them are great. Amsterdam, London, Washington, and Boston are all sisters of Baltimore. Join author Charles Duff, architect and professor, for a spirited presentation of some great cities covered in his new book The North Atlantic Cities and how they have weathered the storms of centuries – and how we can too.

A Baltimore native, Charles Duff has been rebuilding buildings and neighborhoods in Baltimore for 40 years. He is a graduate of Gilman, Amherst, and Harvard and studied at St. Andrews University in Scotland. Mr. Duff has been President of Jubilee Baltimore since 1987, and has just won the Lifetime Achievement Award of the Urban Land Institute. He is a past President of the Baltimore Architecture Foundation and has served on the boards of many community and professional organizations. He lectures widely and has taught at Johns Hopkins and Morgan State Universities. To learn more about The North Atlantic Cities, CLICK HERE.
